The IVF Journey Step by Step

In vitro fertilization (IVF) is one of the most effective fertility treatments available, but the process can sound intimidating at first. Breaking it down into clear steps helps make the journey easier to understand.

Step 1: Ovarian Stimulation & Monitoring

You take fertility medications to encourage multiple follicles to grow. During this time, cycle monitoring with ultrasound and blood tests tracks your response and allows your doctor to adjust doses and time the next steps.

Step 2: Egg Retrieval & Fertilization

When the follicles are ready, a short procedure is performed under light sedation to collect the eggs from the ovaries. The eggs are then combined with sperm in the lab, either through standard IVF or ICSI, to create embryos.

Step 3: Embryo Culture & Transfer

Embryos are monitored in the lab for several days. The best-quality embryo is selected for transfer into the uterus, while others may be frozen for future use. The transfer is a quick, usually painless procedure.

After transfer, you’ll take medications to support the uterine lining while waiting for the pregnancy test. Throughout the process, our team explains each step, provides emotional support, and adjusts your plan as needed to give you the best possible chance of success.
